Marjorie Schultz - CT Glenoaks A Christmas Carol NA NAJ (English Cocker Spaniel)

Comments from the Judges
Ms. Jill Jones of Brownsville, OR and Mr. Robert Brown of Broken Arrow, OK

"Dog started with great energy down a steep hill made first corner and found 1st article. Dog continued on across paved road and another 50 yds. Passed cross tracks and on to second corner. 3rd leg was a short 65 yds with the corner on the short grass at the shoulder of the road. The dog overshot the corner and went across the paved road, after unsuccessfully searching for the track the dog returned across the road found corner and was rewarded 30 yds later with another article. Dog made the next two corners. Dog crossed small gully but then veered off the right. At this point dog was hot and tired. Dog crossed road and couldn't find way back to track. This was heartbreaking since the dog was so close to the final article." Video Clips: Click on image for caption and larger view.

More information on Marjorie Schultz

Marjorie proves what fun you can have with a purebred dog. She began in the sport of tracking in 1997 with the very first dog she owned, an English Cocker Spaniel. Marge will be attending the National Tracking Invitational with her dog CT Glenoaks A Christmas Carol, NA, NAJ "Marley."

It did not take long for Marley to catch on to the sport of tracking. After a year of training she was ready for her tracking tests. She certified to compete in tracking events in September 1999 and a month later Marley passed her Tracking Dog test. A year later at the English Cocker Spaniel National Specialty, she passed her Tracking Dog Excellent test. She continued to track and test at various events and earned international recognition for her talents in Canada. Marley finally passed the challenging Variable Surface Tracking test in May of 2003.

Marge has put a lot of time and effort into the sport of tracking. She has attended many seminars on the sport and has taken several tracking lessons from the experts. She is now no longer the student, but the teacher, leading tracking classes for the Twin Cities Obedience Training Center in Minneapolis, MN. She has also become very involved in tracking tests. She served as head tracklayer for two tests, tracklayer at eight different tests, and test Secretary for nine events. While fully committed to tracking, Marge also likes to train her dogs in agility, attend hunt tests and involve them in an activity called flyball.

When not tracking or training her dogs, Marge is a fourth grade teacher in Minneapolis. Marge is extremely proud to be invited to this national event and looks forward to being among the top trackers in the nation. She resides in Little Canada, Minnesota with her husband and her two dogs, Marley and KC.
