Coursing Hounds Association of the Mid-Potomac Lure Coursing
Coursing Hounds Association of the Mid-Potomac
August 26-27, 2006

By Bob Mason, AKC senior executive field representative, Performance Events

Lure Coursing enthusiasts gathered at the Oatlands Plantation just south of Leesburg, Va., for the CHAMP (Coursing Hounds Association of The Mid-Potomac) lure coursing trial Aug. 26-27.

The two-day event drew 117 entries. With beautiful weather and a great coursing site, the weekend was one to remember. The club furnished lunch each day and had watermelon and cantaloupe for the exhibitors, making it a picnic of a weekend.

Sunday was a great day for Dual Champion Daydream's Irish Mist SC. This Whippet finished its Field Championship on Saturday to become both a conformation champion and Field Champion before winning Best in Field on Sunday. This pretty black Whippet is owned by Rebecca Bowman-Mealey.
