Lure Coursing
Coursing Hounds Association of the Mid-Potomac

Here in the rolling hills at the historical Oatland Plantation just outside of Leesburg, Virginia this last weekend, some very fine athletes were having a great time, doing their thing, Lure Coursing.

This event is an organized event for the twelve breeds of "sight hounds" who chase an artificial lure around a course laid out to test the dogs instinct and desire to perform their natural Instinct to chase game.

The dogs are judged by two judges and points are awarded toward their championship, for the winners.

The top dog on Saturday from a field of 78 entered was a Basenji, who lives in New Mexico, DC AhmahrNahr African Dancer SC, going Best in Field.
