2006 National Retriever Championship Friday - November 10, 2006

While you are in Missouri for the 2006 National Retriever Championship, don't forget to visit the American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog. The American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog, located in beautiful Queeny Park on the western side of St. Louis, is open year-round to the public.

The American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog is a celebration of man's centuries-old relationship with the dog. It houses the finest collection of artwork on the subject in the country, including paintings, bronze sculptures, etchings, watercolors, and porcelains. The works of the world's most acclaimed painters and sculptors of the dog are represented in the art galleries, along with artifacts such as antique dog collars, vintage jewelry, and dog show medals. The Hall of Fame opened in January 2001 and features a wall-length mural on All-Star Dogs of merit.

The Museum Gift Shop, housed in the main level of the carriage house, offers an extensive array of special gift items in your favorite breed.
