Third Series: Water Blind
74 dogs were called back from Series 1 and 2 for further testing on a water blind retrieve. This water blind was initiated from the right rear of the line for series 1 and 2. In fact, the line to the blind required that the dog go over the mound that was the line for the previous series. It was run in light and variable winds at the outset. The blind was approximately 275 yards and was fairly technical with a start where the dog could not see the hazards ahead. Then it required - in the water, over a penninsula, past 2 points, over another point, to the pheasant planted on the tip of the last penninsula. The real hazard in this blind lay in getting the cast off of the tip of the last penninsula.
