8th Series Water Quad

Test is in the same pond as the 7th series water blind. First mark is the right center mark across the pond at 285 yards. Second mark is the left center at 186 yards, thrown from one point across the channel to another point. Third mark is the left hand mark at 200 yards, followed by the right hand mark, a flying hen pheasant at 82 yards. Marks 1, 2 and 3 are across the pond with marks 1 and 3 retired. Test takes approximately 12-15 minutes per dog. Dog number 46 was the starter.

First test dog (female) handled on both retired marks. Second test dog (male) had hunts on mark 1 and mark 3. First running dog was at 1:20pm CST. Video Clips: Click on image for caption and larger view.

7th Series Water Blind

The seventh series water blind is a cold blind of 240 yards. Line to the blind crosses three points, of which the first is the largest. Numerous decoys have been placed on both the first and second points. Once the dogs exit the water at the end of the pond, they have approximately 70 yards to the blind.

The first test dog (male) produced a nice job, the second test dog (female) had difficulty at the end of the blind and was loose and lost in heavy cover for a short time.

The first competing dog is number 32. Came to the line at 8:15am. Test takes 5-6 minutes per dog. Eighth series will probably be at this same location. Video Clips:
