2009 AKC Pointing Breed Gun Dog Championship

The 16th Annual AKC Gun Dog Championship will be held starting Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Cloverdale Farm near Danville, Virginia.  The event will start with the Retrieving Championship to be immediately followed by the Non-Retrieving Championship.

The Non-Retrieving Championship Stake is a one-hour single course without bird field.  The Retrieving Championship is a 30 minute first series with first bird shot on course.  Call backs for a 45 minute second series with first bird shot on course.

All stakes are open to all AKC registered pointing breeds that within the past two years have placed first in any AKC Gun Dog Stake, or have placed 2nd, 3rd, or 4th in any AKC Gun Dog Stake with at least 13, 18 or 25 starters respectively.  Qualifying stakes do not have to be retrieving.  All Field Champions and Amateur Field Champions are qualified to enter.
