The beautiful Cloverdale Farm at Danville, VA is the site of the 2006 AKC Gun Dog Championships. The Conestoga Vizsla Club is hosting the event. Sunday, March 26, 2006 was the sign in day for the event. Club and AKC officials met to organize plans for the kick off of the running on Monday. Trial Chairman, Al Lucas had spent a great deal of time preparing for this event. He chose as Stake Managers, Julia Bonar and Beth Molnar. These ladies covered the various policies that would be adhered to during the event. Fred Leggett, the generous host and owner of Cloverdale Farm was introduced.
Cloverdale Farm lies on the south side of Highway 58, several miles east of Danville, VA. It consists of eleven hundred acres of bottomland adjacent to the Dan River. The courses for this event will utilize approximately six hundred acres of this beautiful tree lined venue. A welcome party was held on Sunday night. The event itself will commence with the Retrieving Championship at 9am Monday, following a riding tour of the course. Judges for the Retrieving Championship are Dan Hoke from Cheney, WA and Ed Hart from Williamston, MI.
