Golden Gate Dachshund Club Earthdog Test
Dachshund Club of America National Earthdog Test
March 17 and March 18 (respectively) - Dixon, California

The Dixon May Fairgrounds in Dixon, California, served as the site of two Earthdog tests held this month as part of the Dachshund Club of America's 2007 National events. On March 17, the Golden Gate Dachshund Club's hosted a test open to all breeds eligible for Earthdog and attracted an entry of 122. The DCA event on March 18 was exclusively for Dachshunds and drew an entry of 97. Test Chairman Jerry Price and Secretary Pat Price ran things smoothly both days.

Dixon is a lovely town located about a half-an-hour west of Sacramento with fairgrounds just a few blocks from downtown. Participants enjoyed warm weather and sunshine throughout the weekend. The dogs put in some good performances at all test levels, and plenty of exhibitors left with legs and new titles. Many of the Dachshund exhibitors had spent the previous three days at the field trials in Vacaville, a few miles west of Dixon, climbing some sizeable hills. Competing in the less physically demanding Earthdog events was a welcome change.
