Dachshund Club of America National Earthdog Events

January 16-17, 2010 – Anaheim, CA

Following the national tracking test on the Tuesday prior and three days of field trial events, the nationals went on to hold three Earthdog tests in Anaheim on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was a beautiful day in Southern California and first up was the test held by the Sierra Dachshund Breeder's Club. This event was open to all eligible Earthdog breeds and had a great entry of over 100 dogs participating. It was a busy morning with a split Intro class and the master class running simultaneously followed by the junior and senior classes. The Dachshund Club of America's national Earthdog test for Dachshunds only took place in the afternoon of the same day and had an entry of 63. Many of the exhibitors then attended the annual dinner and meeting of the Performance Events Committee at a nearby restaurant. A very full day for everyone! Sunday morning it was the test of the Dachshund Club of Santa Ana Valley that was the last event of this cluster of field events for DCA 2010. Again the entry was well over 60. The tests were all completed just after noon in time for everyone to enjoy lunch before heading home after several days of fun with their Dachshunds.
