Mohegan Sun AKC Challenge
The Second Annual Mohegan Sun AKC Challenge was held on Saturday and Sunday, November 4 and 5 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.

The show was co-hosted by the Kenilworth Club and Farmington Valley Kennel Clubs. Over 1,100 dogs competed at this two-day event. The show was taped for television and will air at the end of November. Check the AKC's website for upcoming air dates and times. The show was co-hosted by John Nicholson and AKC's own Gina DiNardo Lash. Sideline and behind the scenes coverage was handled by AKC's Gail Miller.

Best in Show and a prize of $10,000, donated by Mohegan Sun, was awarded to Ch. Colsidex Seabreeze Perfect Fit a three-year-old Weimaraner, bred by Judy Colan of Foster, RI and owned by Alessandra Folz, Judy Colan, Marge Davis and Debra McCray. Owner - Handler: Alessandra Folz .

Hound Group: Afghan Hound Ch. Elmo's Men Are From Mars, Breeder Peter Belmont and owned by Heidi Cole and Peter Belmont Handler: Rindi Gaudet.

Working Group: Boxer Ch. KG Halcyon Fire King, Breeder Kristi Wagg & Susan Von Ruthkirch and owned by Jeri Boccio and Kristi Wagg Handler: Debbie Struff.

Terrier Group: Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Ch. Caraway Celebrate Life, Breeder Betty Chapman and owned by Beth Verner and Betty Chapman Handler: Shari Carusi.

Toy Group: Poodle (Toy) Ch. Smash JP Win A Victory, Breeder Okiki Omura and owned by Ron Scott Handler: Kaz Hosaka.

Non-Sporting Poodle (Standard) Ch. Afterglow The Bog Tease Breeder Michael Gadsby, Owner-Handler Michael A. Pawasarat.

Herding German Shepherd Dog Ch. Geran's Holly Jolly Christmas Breeder: Gerald & Angela & Alexa Roach Owner: Jill Libasil & Abe Puchall Handler: Phillip Moore.
