Training/Testing: Finding Classes/Evaluators

When you are ready to have your dog tested, you can use the AKC web page to find an evaluator in your area. By typing in your state, you’ll be able to see the list of evaluators in areas nearest where you live. Find a CGC evaluator.

Local specialty clubs, AKC judges, some 4-H leaders, therapy dog evaluators, veterinarians, vet techs, groomers, private trainers, kennel owners, animal control and police K-9 officers can give the test. If your trainer is not familiar with the program and would like to learn about the program, the AKC can provide the trainer with assistance in becoming an evaluator.
