CGC Contest Winner Announced

The winner of the AKC Canine Partners contest for Canine Good Citizen evaluators is Dr. Margaret A. (Peggy) Reed of Wilton, Conn.

She wins a trip to the AKC/Eukanuba National Championships taking place in December in Long Beach, Calif.

CGC evaluators referred dog owners to the new AKC Canine Partners program and received one chance in the contest per every three referrals. Reed has been training dogs since 1968 and has been involved with the CGC program since its inception in 1989.

She owns and operates Canine Training and Behavior Services, and her training has included work for law enforcement agencies, government officials, television and movie productions as well as family pets and show dogs.

Reed also is an AKC conformation judge, licensed for the Toy group, part of the Herding group and Best in Show.

The CGC Evaluator promotion program is continuing with all evaluators earning $10 per every dog that they refer to the program and that is then listed. For more information on the promotion, contact akccaninepartners@akc.org.
