2009 World Agility Championships

AKC/USA World Agility Championship Team

Dornbirn, Austria
Practice – September 13-14, 2009

As of Sunday all eleven members of the AKC Agility World Team, along with Coach Nancy Gyes and Assistant Coach Kathie Leggett, had arrived in Dornbirn, Austria. Dogs and handlers had a good trip flying into Zurich, Switzerland and then commuting 125 km to Dornbirn.

The team is staying just a few miles from the competition site in Lustenau, Austria. Lustenau is a town in the westernmost Austrian province of Vorarlberg, in the Dornbirn district. It lies on the Rhine River, which forms the border between Austria and Switzerland.

The team’s first practice was Sunday afternoon at the Agilityhalle Rheinau located 50 km southwest of Lustenau, near Sargans, Switzerland. The agility hall is surrounded by farmland on the banks of the Rhine River. The team spent three hours running a variety of courses designed and setup by coaches Gyes and Leggett. The practice was a very good one for all members.

The team held their second practice at the Agilityhalle, Rheinau on Monday morning. The team was very well organized and maximized their three hours on the floor. Practice went very well and the team was enthusiastic.

This is the beginning of a very exciting week for all and the team would like to thank their sponsor ilovedogs.com for making this event possible.
