2008 AKC National Agility Championship
Sunday, March 30, 2008 - Tulsa, Oklahoma
The final day of competition started with the announcement by AKC Agility Director Sharon Anderson that the 2009 AKC National Agility Championship will be held in Concord, NC. The Cabarrus Arena will be home to the Nationals March 27, 28 & 29, 2009. The qualifying requirements will be 6 Double Q's and 400 points. The qualifying period started on 12/1/07 and will go through 11/30/08.
Sharon also thanked the Oklahoma Nationals Committee for all of their hard work for the past year of planning and especially for this weekend's event. She presented each committee member with a thank you gift from the AKC.
The final presentation for the morning was to the 2007 AKC World Team. Each team member received a jacket and certificate in recognition of their achievements in Norway.
Michelle Persian from Minnesota played the National Anthem on her violin to start the morning. In the 4 rings the Hybrid course was set as designed by Judge Rachel Long waiting for the final round of competition for all exhibitors. Each of the 4 rings was sponsored by an equipment company for the weekend. J & J Dog Supplies donated 2 rings of equipment, Max 200 donated one ring and Countryside Agility donated a ring for the weekend.

After the conclusion of the Hybrid class was the popular and very exciting Challenger's round. The winner of the Challenger's round receives a wild card berth into the Finals round. This round is open to the top 4 dogs of each jump height from Rounds 1-3, that have not already gained placement into the Finals based on three rounds of cumulative scores, providing they scored 100 in that round. Two clean rounds are required to move into the Challenger's Class.
The Challengers Round course was designed and judged by Judge Kera Holm. After a lot of cheers and a few groans from the packed arena the winners of the Challenger's Round are:

Once the last position in the Finals was filled by the winners of the Challenger's Round the dogs took to the course designed and judged by Finals Judge Don Farage. The weekend culminated in the crowning if the 2008 AKC National Agility Champions.
