2009 AKC Agility Invitational
Judges – Randy Reed
Randy Reed is a native of Miami, Florida and lives with his wife, Gina, and their five dogs. Their home is on the water and the entire family enjoys water activities. He is a retired licensed Florida State General Contractor and worked in the southeast Florida coast area. As a member of a number of Florida clubs and national clubs, he stays busy with training classes and training his own dogs.
Reed has had dogs in his family all of his life, starting with Irish Setters and then Newfoundlands. It was not until he had Weimaraners that he began competing in AKC events. He started in conformation and moved to obedience prior to agility becoming his passion. He also competes in hunting and tracking. His first competition dog, Slate, and his most recent dog, Strike, have earned titles in all of the listed competitions.
Reed became an AKC judge in 1999. It has brought him a great deal of enjoyment watching each and every dog that runs in his ring. As he says, "it is the very best seat in the house," and it is his way of giving something back to the dogs.
