2009 AKC Agility Invitational

Judges – Kylie Bourke

Kylie Bourke discovered agility in 1997 while living in Australia. She easily earned a CD on Trixie, a Samoyed, but was not ready to trial at the CDX level so the pair started looking for something else and decided to give agility a try. They both loved agility so much they never returned to competition obedience.

Bourke moved to the US with her husband, Greg, and Trixie in 1998. She immediately became involved in AKC Agility. The now retired Trixie was the first Samoyed with the AKC MX, MXJ and MACH titles. She is still the only Sammy with the USDAA MAD title. Mitzi (now deceased) was the 4th Sammy to MACH and allowed Bourke to be the first Sammy handler to gain a MACH on two different Samoyeds. Kia, Bourke’s ‘youngster,’ is nearly four but has only been trialing for about 15 months. She has her AX, AXJ and OF titles.

Bourke began judging AKC Agility in 2002. She has travelled to many states across the US and has judged in Mexico. She considers herself very lucky to meet the wonderful people and see the many great teams in action across the country.

She currently works for a brokerage firm and is allowed the flexibility to travel for judging on Fridays and Mondays when needed. Greg continues to stoically support her agility habit and adore the company of Trixie and Kia.

Bourke looks forward to the tremendous atmosphere of the competitors and their canine athlete partners. She wishes everyone good luck.
