The Practical Veterinarian: Small Animal Theriogenology - Root Kustritz MV (ed), Butterworth-Heinemann, St. Louis, 2003 (ISBN 0-7506-7408-3) - This text is intended to be a quick reference for veterinary practitioners.

The Dog Breeder's Guide to Successful Breeding and Health Management - Root Kustritz MV, Root TK, Elsevier, St. Louis, 2005 (ISBN 1-4160-3139-1) - This is a book for breeders who want to understand the recommendations made to them by their veterinarian. It includes information about breeding and the reproductive tract and also includes medical information of use to those managing number of dogs, such as parasitology, the rationale behind vaccinations, nutrition, and more. - Available from Dogwise

The ABC’s of Breeding – Orlandi, Claudia - This is a book used in our Breeder’s Symposium. It includes information on basic genetics, pedigrees, and more. Available through the AKC Canine Health Foundation – 1-888-682-9696.
