AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day: Just Around the Corner!
AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day is just around the corner. If you haven’t started planning an event, it’s not too late!
Holding an AKC RDO Day event is a great opportunity to interact with the public and gain positive exposure for your club and/or breed. Those who confirm the details of their event with us will receive a resource-filled packet – including posters, brochures, balloons, pencils, sample press releases and many more materials that will assist you in putting together a top-notch event. We plan to distribute 500 packets on a first-come, first-served basis.
If your club already has an event, such as a dog show or open house planned in the month of September, hosting an AKC RDO Day event can be as simple as setting out a table with materials. To get the packet of free materials, all you have to do is enter the details of your event on the AKC RDO Day web site here. All approved events will be listed in a searchable database on the AKC web site. We will only ship packets and list events on our web site to those coordinators with event details finalized – including date, time and location and planned activities.
For clubs who want to host a stand-alone AKC RDO Day event, Best Friends Pet Care has offered use of their facilities nationwide for AKC RDO Day events at no cost to AKC clubs and CGC Evaluators. One of these facilities may be located in your area. To find out if there is a location in your area, please visit the Best Friends web site.
If you would like to hold an AKC RDO Day event at a Best Friends Pet Care location, please contact the AKC Communications department at 212-696-8308 or email firstname.lastname@example.org If you are already signed up to hold an event, we thank you for your support!
