2005 Westminster Junior Showmanship

In 2005 the requirements for entry for the Junior Competition changed to 10 Wins in Open with Competition. The entry for this Westminster was 81. Eric Ringle, who participated as a Junior Handler with Great Danes, and Don Carmody, a former Great Dane handler, judged the preliminary classes.

Dr. Charles Garvin judged the Final Competition. Dr. Garvin competed in Junior Showmanship with Dalmatians and was the winner of the Junior Showmanship Competition at Westminster in 1969. Dr. Garvin has remained active in the Dalmatians as a breeder and has served the Dalmatian Club of America as President and in many other capacities over the years. Professionally he is an ophthalmic surgeon. Dr. Garvin has served as the Delegate for the Marion Kennel Club since 1990 and is currently on the Board of the American Kennel Club. Dr. Garvin represents the success that many people have had growing up participating in the sport of purebred dogs.
