DOGNY: America's Tribute to Search and Rescue Dogs
DOGNY in the Windows at Saks 5th Avenue

In the windows at Saks 5th Avenue --- what says "New York" more than that?

Four DOGNY statues graced the windows at Saks the first two weeks in September, giving the American Kennel Club's tribute to America's Search and Rescue Dogs great visibility and exposure in one of America's most famous department stores. All other windows in the store were black out during that time.

The statues included a white-sequined dog created by famed fashion designer Vera Wang, and highlighted the arrival of the statues on the streets, in parks, and in office buildings around the city.

The dogs in the Saks windows included:
  • "Angel" by designer Vera Wang, sponsored by the Lefrak Organization

  • "Rising" by artist Lucia Yee-Lipitz, sponsored by Polo Ralph Lauren

  • "PAL loves DOGNY" by artist Luis Vargas (winner of Police Athletic League contest), sponsored by the Iams Company

  • "Pride" by artist Dean Johnson, sponsored by AKC Companion Animal Recovery
