Wonder Dog Riley—Always at the Top of Her Class

Wonder Dog Riley  – Always at the Top of Her Class!

The Life of Riley CD RAE CA owned by Sandra Steed of Goldsboro, NC

Riley is a mixed-breed dog who started showing in AKC Rally in August 2012. Since her first time in the ring, she acted as though she was born to compete.

“She had never been to a dog show, or anything like it, but that didn’t matter,” Sandra said. “She loved getting to show off her skills and never seemed to be nervous at all.”

Through each level of Rally, she got better and better and was dubbed “The Wonder Dog.”

Riley received an invitation to the AKC Rally National Championships in 2014 and placed seventh in the Excellent class.

She received the highest honor in AKC Rally – the Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) title - on March 19,, 2015, at the Tarheel Dog Shows in Raleigh, NC. Out of a perfect score of 100, Riley had scores of 99 and 98 in the Excellent B and Advanced B classes.

“Her rally record is something that we are most impressed with; she has placed in the top four dogs in 27 out of her 31 classes with only 1 non-qualifying (NQ) score caused by me when I passed by a sign,” Sandra said.

“I know if she could talk she would thank our trainer and best friend Donna Foy for taking us on and showing us just how smart she can be.  She would also thank the awesome

AKC Canine Partners program that AKC started and we are so thankful for.”

In her down time, Riley enjoys being a therapy dog.  “She also is working on agility where she has already jumped ahead to the top of her class.  She truly is my ‘Wonder Dog’ and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish next!”
