Hunter is a 7-year-old mixed-breed dog from the San Francisco Bay area in California.  He is a retired service dog and spends his days relaxing with his cat friends and chasing bunnies in the field.

He loves AKC Coursing Ability and earned the highest honor in AKC Coursing Ability – the Coursing Ability Excellent title – for 25 passes on Feb. 22, 2015, at the Monterey Bay Coursing Association test.

Coursing ability allows all dogs the opportunity to release their natural prey drive by chasing a lure – usually a white trash bag – that is attached to a pulley system, which moves it around a field.

Hunter also dabbles in Barn Hunt, Rally, and Agility and enjoys chasing tennis balls and long runs on the beach.

“He is an incredible companion and always up for a challenge,” Marissa said.

Hunter competes in AKC sports through the AKC Canine Partners program for all dogs, including mixed-breeds and rescues.
