Since the inception of the AKC DNA program, the cost of DNA profiling has remained the same ($40 for a regular DNA test kit/$35 for a prepaid DNA test kit). In order to maintain the low cost of DNA testing, beginning August 1, 2009, the American Kennel Club will issue a "Letter of DNA Analysis" in place of the "DNA Profile Certificate" for each dog successfully sampled.
The information on the" Letter of DNA Analysis" remains the same as on the "DNA Profile Certificate"; both the DNA profile and number will be provided in the letter. For dogs individually registered at the time the DNA sample is received by the AKC, the DNA Profile Number will still be added to that dog's registration record, and will appear on all Registration Certificates and Pedigrees issued in the future.
If the customer desires to receive a "DNA Profile Certificate", an order form for this item will be enclosed with the "Letter of DNA Analysis". The handsome, color profile certificate is offered for $10 per certificate. Payment will be required at the time of the request.

Use the SuperPlex-G DNA Profile order form to order an upgrade of an existing DNA profile to the new genotype. Please note, the upgrade is completely voluntary - the new marker set is compatible with the DNA profiles previously generated for AKC DNA Certification.
