Max is a German Shepherd Dog, which made the #3 spot of the AKC's list of most popular breeds of 2015.

The AKC recently added a program to honor brave working dogs like Max. The AKC Canine Officer Program honors dogs working in government roles, including law enforcement, military, border patrol, and more. Read more about the program and find out how to nominate a canine officer here.
