Air Force Veteran and His Service Dog Are On the Job Together at Lowe’s

Air Force Veteran Clay Luthy was having a difficult time finding a job that would allow him to bring his service dog to work. Luthy's dog, Charlotte, is a Golden Retriever, who has been with Luthy for 10 years and can alert him and calm him down, reports CNN.

Luckily for Luthy, the Lowe's store in Abilene, Texas was happy to hire both him and his dog.

"We were interviewing people for his position. And he was one of the applicants. And so he showed up for the interview and he had Charlotte with him," Jay Fellers, a human resource manager at Lowe's, told CNN affiliate KRBC.

Charlotte and Luthy have been a welcome sight to customers at the store, one woman even sharing a picture of the two on Facebook.

Lowe's also tries to schedule Luthy for work in departments like paint, where Charlotte has a place to sit. Charlotte even wears her own employee vest.

Way to go Lowe's! We're so happy that Luthy and Charlotte have found a place that accomodates and welcomes them.

And this isn't the first time Lowe's has been noted for their canine friendliness. Remember Maverick the Golden Retriever? Lowe's was the store that provided his family with the wagon to transport him around town.
