A 55-year-old woman owes her life to a state police K9 after a miraculous rescue from icy waters on Thursday, February 11.
Caroline Boudle of Connecticut was reported missing after she disappeared during an evening walk Wednesday night, WFSB reported. A K9 named Axle was part of the team to help search for her in a wooded area where footprints had been found.
While looking for signs of the woman, Axle raced off into the woods and stopped at a body of water, where Boudle was then found. She was treated for hypothermia and, with temperatures in the low 20s, likely would have died if not for Axle, his handler said.
