A lost puppy’s wrong turn put him on the right track to a new home this week.
Sheriff’s deputies in St. Lucie County, Florida, were on an assignment when they heard a whimpering sound coming from a vacant lot, according to the sheriff’s office’s Facebook account.
When they investigated the sound, deputies found a scared and exhausted puppy who had fallen into a collapsed septic drain. They swiftly pulled the puppy from the drain, bathed him, and set out to find his owner. But when no one came forward, the deputy who found the puppy decided to give him a forever home.
The sheriff’s office shared multiple pictures of the puppy, including several of him seemingly content in his new home.
“[He] is now living in the lap of luxury,” the post stated.
