Pet Owners Spend $681M On Valentine’s Day Gifts For Pets

Ahh, Valentine's Day. The one day a year that revolves around love and spending time with those you care about...and you can't forget the gifts, of course, to show how much we care for one another.

The majority of us spend some amount money on cards, flowers, stuffed animals, or chocolate to express our feelings in adorable, sugar-coated ways. While most people purchase these gifts for their significant (human) other, there is also a massive market for pet lovers.

It was estimated that America would shell out a whopping $681 million this year on Valentine's Day gifts for their furry companions. Last year, that number was $701 million, according to the National Retail Federation

Clearly there is no lack of love being shown to our four-legged friends on this heart-warming holiday.

With all the joy floating around, don't forget how important it is to keep your chocolate and goodies stashed away, as chocolate can be toxic to our pets in certain amounts.
