McKenzie Cascade Dog Fanciers Donate $10,000 to Help Local Police Department

By David Calderwood, MCDF

At the end of February, the McKenzie Cascade Dog Fanciers (MCDF) clustered with another local club (Linn County Kennel Club) to hold all-breed dog shows in Albany, Oregon. During our two show days, MCDF club members made a donation of $10,000 to the Springfield, Oregon Police Department to replace the police dog they recently lost to pancreatitis. We wanted to share some of the great news coverage this donation received:

  • The local Springfield TV station was there to record a video of the event and put it on the 6:00 PM news. Watch it here.
  • Our local Eugene newspaper also did an article about the donation. Read it now.
  • The local Albany newspaper also shot a video of the dog show which we loved. Check it out here.

We are a non profit all-breed dog club dedicated to the love and care of purebred dogs. Our general meetings are held the first Wednesday evening each month. Newcomers are welcome, so please contact one of our officers or board members if you would like to attend. We are active in our community -- check out some of the fun here.
