Grand Valley Kennel Club (Grand Junction, Colorado) is celebrating a milestone anniversary this year -- 2015 marks the club's 50th anniversary! The theme for the year is "Go for the Gold."
Official meetings of dog lovers began in March 1965 and the club was officially established in October 1965 as the Western Colorado Kennel Club. We began having regular matches in 1966 and our first AKC show was held in May 1967. Times were simpler back in the day and although the times (and hairstyles!) may have changed, the passion we share for our four-legged friends has not.
Through the years the club had its ups and downs, but the true enthusiasts have persisted and it has brought us to the club we have today.
We hope you'll join us western Colorado celebrating 50 years from September 24th -27th 2015 at our dog shows! Learn more here.
