A pet dog may have prevented a mass jailbreak in Greece this month. According to The Daily Mirror, a dog was on a walk with his owner in Corfu, a Greek island, when it suddenly stopped moving and focused on a spot on the ground. The owner then heard noises coming from underground and contacted authorities.
When police investigated, they found a 20-meter tunnel linked to a wing in the Corfu Prison holding more than 20 convicts. In the tunnel, the Mirror reported, were battery-operated fans and takeout containers.
Earlier this summer, Bloodhounds were part of the search team for escaped convicts Richard Matt and David Sweat. The convicted killers reportedly stole a tactic from the film Cool Hand Luke and used pepper in their boots and on their trail to prevent the dogs from tracking them. Read the whole story here.
