Westie Took Top Honors At Crufts And A Dog Named Eric Stole The Internet’s Heart

Sunday marked the crowning of Crufts’ 125th Best in Show winner, a West Highland White Terrier named Devon.

"I can’t believe it, it was amazing," her owner Marie Burns said of the win. "She is a typical terrier, a bit of a tomboy, very independent, and fun to be around. I’m so thankful to everyone who has helped us get there. I can’t believe it she’s the first West Highland Terrier to win in more than 20 years.”

Westie owners and lovers showed their support for Devon and celebrated her win on social media.

Over 22,000 dogs competed for Best In Show with finalists including Jen the German Spitz Klein, Eric the Pekingese, Zony the Border Collie, James the Gordon Setter, Hazel the Whippet, and Hector the Bouvier Des Flandres.




Of those finalists was fan favorite, Eric, who caused quite the stir across the internet for his good looks and charming personality.
