Charlotte Dog Training Club Donates Bite Suit to Local K9 Unit

By Dawn Heath

The Charlotte Dog Training Club (Charlotte, NC) works hard to be an advocate within the community and help members and students understand all things "dog" from dog training, manners, competition in agility, obedience and rally to canine health, nutrition and so on.

The club recently teamed up with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) to have them come out to do demos for our members and have one of their officers introduce the sport of Nosework to our students.

As the CMPD has become an integral part of who we are and our community support, we felt it was important to give back. We asked our officers what the canine unit was in desperate need of. We received a response of "money to help buy a new bite suit so that our officers can train safely - and fit in it."

Rather than donating money towards a new protection suit, our club voted and decided to purchase the bite suit for the CMPD K9 Unit.

We were thrilled to be able to support our local police and their K9s.
