AKC held its Responsible Dog Ownership Day this weekend at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, North Carolina. We had our biggest turnout yet, and dogs and owners alike had a great time! Check out more photos of the event here.
Up north, several clubs in Connecticut came together last week to participate in the Connecticut Day Parade held at the Big E - another great opportunity to share the importance of responsible dog ownership. Here's a slideshow of club members at dogs at the event!
Club member Peggy Wampold said, "The people walking the dogs would stop and let the people pet the dogs. We could not help but smile. When the crowd saw our float and the dogs come into view they went wild, screaming and whistling. We did not hear this for any of the other groups in the parade. The AKC banner was on the tail gate of our "float" so they could see it until we turned a corner. We got more attention than Miss Conn. and Mrs. Conn. We felt like celebrities."
