Stressed whenever you hit the airport? A great new program recently launched at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) that will help de-stress passengers flying through Los Angeles – Pets Unstressing Passengers, also known as PUP. Los Angeles World Airports partnered with Therapy Dogs, Inc. to create the PUP program, where various trained dogs and handlers, on rotating schedules, will roam through the gate areas on the departure level of each terminal. They will visit with passengers awaiting flights, provide comfort, and offer airport information. Each volunteer underwent classroom and in-terminal training to learn about LAX and how to assist passengers. Each dog and handler team will be equipped with a trading card featuring the dog’s vital statistics and airport improvements information. Would you go visit the dogs if they offered a program like this at your airport? Do you have a therapy dog you think might be good at this?
