This photo is from from the Fulton County Ohio Kennel Club dog show, held this past weekend in Wauseon, OH. In addition to the dog show, the club hosted an "Adult Handling Clinic" (An Afternoon with the Professionals) put on by the AKC Registered Handlers Program. There was also an agility demonstration by the "Agility Angels," an organization that uses the sport of dog agility to help children and teens diagnosed with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome develop social skills and self-confidence.
Each student is paired up with a coach and trained agility dog, and the student is encouraged to engage with the dog as they run through the course. The Fulton County Ohio Kennel Club supports this great program and a group of volunteers donate their dogs and time to make it possible in the local area. The club also puts on a Silent Auction and takes donations to help support the organization. The kids had a blast and were so proud of their demonstration!
