Charlottesville-Albemarle Kennel Club (CAKC) recently held its 60th and 61st all-breed dog shows in Charlottesville, Virginia, where the Portuguese Water Dog GCH Claircreek Impression de Matisse won Best in Show both days.

The club received achieved great news coverage of their show weekend. Kudos! Check out some recaps:

In addition to the conformation competition, the club also offered an activity for the general public: My Dog Can Do That! At MDCDT!, trainers showed owners how to get their dog started in agility by letting them try beginning equipment. Visitors also learned where to find dog training classes in their community.

The Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD) was also on hand to give a police K9 demonstration.  The CAKC has given the department donations in the past that have allowed ACPD to purchase fully-trained police dogs as well as protective vests for their current dogs.
