The Brainerd Kennel Club (BKC) was spotlighted recently in the Northland Press after several club members visited a local elementary school with their dogs to take part in the school's "Paws for Reading" month. The members spoke to grades K-6 about therapy dogs and how they help people. Read the article here. In addition to community service programs like this one, BKC sponsors training classes for both beginning and advanced dogs, and educates members on topics pertinent to dog ownership, care, and training. This club was also the first in the country to hold the new advanced Canine Good Citizen ("Community Canine") test! Visit the club's website here.
