Asheville Kennel Club (AKC) celebrated the Miscellaneous Class breeds at its recent dog shows by hosting "Bravo to the Breeds of the Miscellaneous Class." The fun, educational event spotlighted some of the rarer breeds working their way to full AKC recognition.
"We went from an average yearly entry of eight dogs, up to 22 dogs, with 6 breeds represented," said Show Chairman Jim Owens. Best in Miscellaneous was held in the group ring at the start of that day's groups and as the breeds were examined, information on the breed was read over the PA system.
Three free education seminars for judges were also held for the Boerboel, Wirehaired Viszla and the American Hairless Terrier.
