Obedience/Rally Field Representative Sharon Hodgens-Wood recently sent us these fun updates from around the AKC Obedience and Rally rings. Enjoy!
By chance, the dogs were lined up in height order during Novice A and B group sit exercise at the Durham Kennel Club Obedience trial!
Donna Brown and her Irish Wolfhound "Victoria" showed in Novice B at the Durham Kennel Club show on July 13 and qualified, earning their second leg toward the Companion Dog (CD) title. The first leg was earned at an Irish Wolfhound specialty where they also won Highest Scoring Dog in Trial. Donna says Victoria is very sensitive, making training challenging. She thinks their success was meant to be since the judge was Victoria Brown!
Shelly Threlkeld showed her 10 year old Sheltie, "Tango" at the Durham Kennel Club Rally trials on July 11. Tango qualified in Excellent and Advanced in both Trial 1 and Trial 2 which completed their Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) title. Tango is looking forward to a well earned retirement from an illustrious career in Obedience with a CD, Rally with an RAE and Agility with a MACH (Agility Championship). Good dog!
