AKC’s Responsible Dog Ownership Day

AKC is celebrating its own Responsible Dog Ownership Day this weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina. We hope to see anyone in the area at the event!




2013 Events Include: Take part in AKC’s My Dog Can Do That! Trainers will help you take your dog through beginning-level agility equipment. It’s free to try! Ask A Trainer: Ask the AKC GoodDog! Helpline training staff about any issue you may be having with your puppy or dog. Demonstrations of Agility, Flyball, Obedience, AKC Rally®, Herding, and new this year, K9 Noseworks! Microchip your pet for $10 with Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption. The fee includes lifetime enrollment in AKC Reunite’s national recovery service. Take your dog through the 10-step AKC Canine Good Citizen test for $10! This special certification shows that your dog is a well-mannered member of the community. Bring your kids to the Children’s Area! They can take part in Responsible Dog Ownership Relays, face painting, Frisbee toss, cornhole and special this year, a Stuffed Animal Repair Clinic. The Surgery Club from the NC State Vet School will suture back together torn or damaged toys.
