AKC’s Flagship Responsible Dog Ownership Day

Calling all dog owners in the southeast! AKC will be celebrating the Flagship RDO Day in Raleigh, North Carolina on September 21st at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds from 10am to 3pm.

  • AKC specialty clubs can also represent their breeds at AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day. Contact NCRDODay@akc.org to participate.

Bring your leashed, vaccinated dog to have fun in a variety of activities, including:

  • AKC's My Dog Can Do That! Trainers will help you take your dog through beginning-level agility equipment. It's free to try! From 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Ask A Trainer: Ask the AKC GoodDog! Helpline training staff about any issue you may be having with your puppy or dog.
  • Demonstrations of Agility, Flyball, Obedience, AKC Rally®, Herding, and new this year, K9 Noseworks!
  • $10 Microchipping with Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption. The fee includes lifetime enrollment in AKC Companion Animal Recovery's national recovery service.
  • AKC Canine Good Citizen testing for only $10! This special certification shows that your dog is a well-mannered member of the community.
  • A Children's Area with Responsible Dog Ownership Relays, face painting, Frisbee toss, cornhole and special this year, a Stuffed Animal Repair Clinic. The Surgery Club from the NC State Vet School will suture back together torn or damaged toys.

The event is FREE and open to everyone. The first 500 people to enter the event receive a free goodie bag!
