We suspect Kleenex stocks will be on the rise this summer after the film Max hits theaters June 26.
Based on true events, the story is about Max, played by a Belgian Malinois named Carlos, and his handler, who are deployed to Afghanistan. When his handler is killed in action, Max is retired to the handler's family, who are faced with the difficulty of helping a traumatized dog. As usual, Hollywood might not show the safest dog-training techniques (letting a child or group of children handle a dog while you're working through aggression issues, for example, is not recommended). However, the overall storyline is certain to be a tearjerker—an interesting take on the boy-and-dog scenario we've all loved since Old Yeller.
The Warner Brothers/MGM movie also stars Josh Wiggins, Lauren Graham, Thomas Haden Church, Robbie Amell, Luke Kleintank, and Jay Hernandez.
