Canine Good Citizen Program Reaches U.S. Military Bases

While the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen program is based primarily in the United States, the program also has a presence in U.S. territories and on U.S. military bases.

I am an approved AKC CGC Evaluator and I am the chairperson of the Human Animal Bonding/Pet Visitation Program (HAB/PVP) that has been approved by the US Army Installation Commander here in Korea.

The PVP Program is the first of its kind in Korea. Our dogs have passed the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen test and we have an active therapy dog program.

For military families on the base who may be missing their dogs back home, a visiting therapy dog provides joy and comfort. We also provide CGC training for dogs on the U.S. Army base here in Korea.

For us, CGC helps dog owners, military families, and it provides a little piece of home.
