Best of Breed winners vied for top honors at the 141st Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Among the Group First winners, six of seven were dogs fed Purina® Pro Plan® dog food. It was the 5-year-old German Shepherd Dog, “Rumor” (GCH Lockenhaus’ Rumor Has It V Kenlyn), who came out of retirement and captured Best in Show. It had been 30 years since a Herding dog won the coveted title. An 8-year-old male, “Manhattan” (CH Covy Tucker Hill’s Manhattan), won in 1987.
Best in Show judge Thomas H. Bradley III of Watertown, New York, selected the 6 ½-year-old Irish Setter, “Adrian” (GCH Vermilion’s Sea Breeze), as the Reserve Best in Show winner. Handled by professional Adam Bernardin of Chaplin, Connecticut, Adrian is fed Purina Pro Plan NATURAL Turkey & Barley Formula.
“Adrian is a consistent performer in the ring,” says handler Adam Bernardin of Chaplin, Connecticut. “He is a cool, collected dog who puts me at ease with his reliability.”
