PACH Pistol Pete owned by Barbara Thomas of Minerva, OH

Barbara decided to try agility class with Pistol Pete, better known as Petey, to give additional exercise to the very active young dog.

“As a pup, he was quite a handful.  We enrolled in agility class just to blow off some energy, and the rest is history,” Barbara said. “He loved it right from the start, and it has become our passion.”

Barbara enrolled Petey in the AKC Canine Partners program for all dogs, including mixed-breeds and rescues so he was eligible for AKC Agility events. “We were so pleased when AKC allowed us to enter their trials,” she said.

The now 8-year-old Poodle – Shih-Tzu mix achieved one of the top honors in AKC Agility – the Preferred Agility Championship (PACH)  – on June 20, 2015, at a trial in Niles, OH.

“Petey gives his all on every run, and I think he just keeps getting better.  I hope we can compete for many more years,” Barbara said.
