Thai Ridgeback Did You Know?


  • The Thai Ridgeback has been assigned the Hound Group designation.
  • The Thai Ridgeback has been recorded in the Foundation Stock Service since 1997.
  • The Thai Ridgeback was originated in Thailand, and is considered a primitive breed in it's native country.
  • Did you know that some Thai Ridgebacks are born ridgeless and or plush coated? Both which are considered pet quality and should be spayed or neutered.
  • The breed has only four recognizable colors (Red, Blue, Black and Yellow).
  • Did you know that the Thai Ridgeback was used as a sentry dog, a carting dog, and also used to keep Cobra's at bay? They can and will kill a Cobra.
  • Thai Ridgebacks have spotted tongues. Some even come with solid black/blue tongues.
