- In World War I the Irish Terrier was used as a messenger and sentinel.
- The Irish terrier is the raciest member of the terrier group, with a
longer body and longer legs than the other terriers.

tan, gray and bridle; only near the end of the 19th century did the solid
red color become a fixture of the breed.
