In 1980, the AKC commenced electronic record-keeping; to obtain this more recent data, contact the Reports department, reports@akc.org.
Dog Registration Statistics
Click on a time period to view annual AKC dog registration statistics broken down and ranked by breed. For the years 1885-1925, statistics are only calculated every 5 years and are limited to the 12-13 most popular breeds (with the exception of 1915 and 1920).
