Show, Obedience, and Field Trial Statistics

Click on a decade to view the tabulated statistics and breakdown of shows, trials, breed participants, champion titles, degrees, first awards, geographic locales, and more assembled by the AKC Show Records department for each individual year. In 1980, the AKC commenced electronic record-keeping; to obtain this more recent data, contact the Reports department, reports@akc.org.

Dog Registration Statistics

Click on a time period to view annual AKC dog registration statistics broken down and ranked by breed. For the years 1885-1925, statistics are only calculated every 5 years and are limited to the 12-13 most popular breeds (with the exception of 1915 and 1920).
